Irvin Joseph Hadley camping in the snake river canyon -- sept 1948This is a picture of my father,
Irvin Joseph Hadley, taken on a fishing trip up the Snake River Canyon, Wyoming, There was a gravel pit about a mile below Table Creek Campground Dad liked to camp at. September, 1948.

In those days you could just pull off in the woods with your camping gear and set up camp. Dad wrapped his fish in plastic and kept them on the roof of the car. He and my Mom heated water on the fire to wash dishes and in this picture can also be seen an old Coleman camp stove that burned white gas. Dad had a couple of folding metal chairs he carried with him even after I was born in 1951. They slept in the back of their car. The seats would fold down on many of these models.
