·        In the summer he took his family up into the mountains camping and fishing every Sunday and Monday – got in trouble with the LDS church for that.

·        He liked it when we came to stay with them between sheep herding jobs. Kathy made sourdough pancakes. They liked to sit at the table after breakfast talking about his younger days.

·        Irv worked 2 days a week barbering in Ogden late into his 70’s. One day he had a customer get up and walk out on him while he was cutting his hair. His hands were shaking badly. He came home with his tools and through them in a pile against the wall in the corner of his room.

Irv was an easy going man, liked by many people. He had a knack for conversation – which was a great asset for a barber. He could tell when a person wanted to talk or when they just wanted to be quiet. He had a good rhythm and sense of timing. He was a good story teller and just a joy to talk to.
